slated for spring 2016, this thorough introductory course will provide training in how to research grant opportunities, as well as the practical experience of applying for a real local grant opportunity.    To be offered in person at Sonoma State on one full saturday plus a few evenings over the course of the semester.

we are developing training for preservice teachers and practicing educators and administrators in restorative practices,  

this course will explore practical approaches to using ipads in reading instruction that are engaging for students and based  on the current research in reading and language instruction.

mobile devices and the easy to use digital video tools this technology offers, this course explores ways to use video as a powerful and effective teaching and assessment tool in the classroom for reading, language, special education and more.

this institute brings together teachers to collaboratively build integrated units of study that are interdisciplinary in a project based learning framework, addressing the california standards for math, science and language arts.  

Design thinking is a problem solving approach that is based on empathy for  the end user.  applied to the educational setting, it helps reframe the conversation around how to approach challenges and find unique solutions.
